Elena Corchero has managed to turn her fascination with technology into a career, by helping people make sense of the new era of ambient advertising. As one of Unruly’s resident Futurists, Elena has a deep understanding of the products, trends and technologies that will shape the way we will live in the future.
With a background in product development and wearable tech, Elena is interested in the sociological impact of emerging tech, and how the internet of things is shaping the future of advertising.
With a Masters in Material Futures from London’s Central Saint Martins, Elena’s career began as a Researcher at MIT Media Lab. She has since carved out a busy career as a tech consultant, developing prototypes and concepts for the likes of the BBC, Diageo, Unilever, Audi, and the London Olympics.
Her articles have been featured in Elle , Vogue , Forbes and MIT Technology Review. She’s wowed audiences at TED and Oxford University, and is a mentor and judge for Prince Andrew, Duke of York’s ‘Teen Tech’ initiative.
Inspired by Unruly’s co-founder Sarah Wood, Elena joined the Unruly family in early 2018 as part of the Home team, where she educates brands and publishers about the future of ambient tech and its impact on audiences.
In her spare time, Elena can be found perfecting her Lindy Hop dance moves.
